1- Can I change the ID picture?
Yes you can change your ID Card photo by applying for the service at any of our registration centers.
2- I am holding "Marsoom" I don't have a family book, how can I apply for the Emirates ID?
Kindly be advised that this case has been escalated to the concerned entity and it is under review by higher authorities.
3- Wrong information has been entered on the application or Typo errors, what shall I do in this case?
- The application is under processing: You need to call our customer care team and report it to check the possibility of amending the application.
- The ID already printed & received: you need to visit the registration center with a document approving the correct information, have an ID Number Certificate issued & then apply for ID replacement via the typing center.
4- Why is the ID valid only for 5 Years for the UAE Nationals?
The main reason behind the decision that the ID card for UAE Nationals is valid for 5 years lies in the fact that the validity period of the raw material of the smart card does not exceed 5 years and that the presumable lifetime of the electronic chip and the digital certificates stored in it is also 5 years.
5- The E-form is not working, please advise?
Please use 'Internet Explorer 6' in order to access to the E-form. If you're using a different version of Internet Explorer then please click on 'compatibility view'. In case the problem is still accruing kindly visit one of the authorized typing centers to type your application.
6- My visa expires in 2012, should I apply for Emirates ID?
Please be advised that you should apply for Emirates ID along with the visa renewal.
7- The application status is showing "Delivered to……" and the location is not specified. What does this mean?
It indicates your ID card wasn't collected from the PO for more than 90 days hence it was returned to Emirates ID. You need to now collect the ID card from the main registration center in your Emirate.
8- I have lost my ID card abroad, now I am outside UAE, what shall I do?
Please report the loss of your emirates ID card immediately to the UAE embassy. Once you're back to the UAE, you need to visit the registration center ASAP to have an ID Number Certificate issued & then apply for a new ID card under 'Lost/stolen' via a typing center.
9- I received an SMS that my ID card is ready for collection but I lost the application receipt. Please advise?
Visit the Post office mentioned in the SMS with proof of Identity, to collect the card show the SMS and proof of identity at the counter.
10- My child is added to my passport, is there any way to register him with emirates ID?
Yes you can, simply visit the typing centre with the passport for both parents, white background photo, parents ID and the Birth Certificate.
11- What is the process to apply for Emirates ID for special needs and elderly cases?
In such cases you may directly visit the nearest registration center to apply for the Emirates ID, visit to the typing center is not required. If it's not possible to reach the registration center, ask one of your relatives to request the mobile registration service.
12- How do I know my biometrics appointment scheduled date?
You will receive an SMS within 48 hours from the application date and it will also be mentioned on the application document. You can also visit our website to view the appointment by using ID Card Status service.
13- The online ID card status shows "TRANSIT", what does that mean?
It means that your ID card has been delivered to Emirates PO and it's in the process to be delivered to the delivery post office where the customer should receive his ID Card from.
14- My child was already registered with Emirates ID but No card was issued, does he require an ID card now?
Please be advised that the ID card is mandatory for all ages now. Please visit the nearest registration center, request an ID Number Certificate issued for the child, and then you may apply for his/her ID renewal via any adopted typing center.
15- Can I change the appointment date, location or time?
- Biometrics date can be changed ONLY ONCE, because upon applying at the typing center, the first appointment will be customer’s choice, and he can only call and request to change it ONCE.
16- I got married few months ago; do I need to change my ID?
Card needs to be replaced if the applicant got married and there were changes to the name structure, specifically with nationalities who have to change their last names after getting married. However if there is no change to the name structure and data shown on the card itself then all the customer will need to do is to visit the registration center with the document that proves the current condition & we'll update our records
17- I am looking for job and I would like to apply for any available positions with Emirates ID, please advise where can I send my resume?

18- My son has just completed 15 years; what is the grace period given to update his Emirates ID?
The Emirates ID has to be updated within 30 days from his 15th birthday. And he should give his fingerprints while he applies for the ID Card renewal.
19- My ID card as per emirates post has been returned to emirates ID what can I do?
- You are to issue a certificate, from the registration center and re-issue the card and pay the fees for replacement since as per the information mentioned on your application form card left un-collected for more than 90 days will be discarded.
