The Emirates Identity Authority has succeeded in expanding the scope of the ISO 27001:2005 Certification in Information Security Management System (ISMS) to cover 11 registration centers affiliated to it after passing the assessment phase conducted by the British Standards Institution (BSI) for these centers.
The expansion covered the registration centers in Al Karama, Al Rashidiya, Al Ain, Sharjah, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah, Al Wahda, Ajman, Musaffah and Al Barsha, which was awarded the certification recently.
The Emirates ID is the first federal government entity in the UAE and the first entity operating in the field of digital ID worldwide that is awarded this certification, which represents the top international standard for evaluating information security management systems.The Emirates ID clarified that this certification is an indicator of how far it is committed to apply the world information security standards and is a continuation of its efforts to harness the best advanced technologies to ensure the confidentiality of information in line with its strategic initiatives including the digital ID project and the electronic linkage project with government organizations concerned with civil incidents.
Meanwhile, the Emirates ID valued this achievement, praising the efforts of the Information Security Section at the ICT Department and the co-operation and support shown by the executive directors and the directors of registration centers for being awarded this international certification.
