Ras Al Khaimah Customs and Ports Department has announced its adoption of the ID card as a condition for completing all its customs transactions and providing its services to customers.
In a press release published by a number of local newspapers today, the department clarified that the ID card had become a basic requirement and a supporting document for the issuance and renewal of customs representative's card, stressing the necessity for presenting the original ID card for the department to be able to read the data stored in it.
The department pointed out that this procedure was based on its keenness on enhancing and supporting the initiative of adopting the ID card for easing all the transactions of customers and people concerned concluded with the department in co-operation with the Emirates Identity Authority.
