Dr. Al Shamsi praises the prudent leadership’s support for UAE citizens
Emirates ID is keen on hosting initiatives that bring benefit to the UAE and UAE nationals: Al Khouri
The Emirates Identity Authority sponsored a mass wedding for the second year gathering 40 UAE nationals at Emirates Palace Hotel in Abu Dhabi yesterday in co-operation with the Marriage Fund.
In a speech delivered on her behalf by Mr. Rashid Obaid Al Kashf, Marriage Fund Board Member, H.E. Dr. Maitha Salem Al Shamsi, Minister of State and Chairman of the Marriage Fund, praised the ongoing support received by the UAE nationals from the prudent leadership led by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, may Allah protect him, his brother His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may Allah save him, their brethren Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates, and His Highness General Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
“Through the mass weddings organized by it, the Marriage Fund seeks to help the UAE youths reduce the costs of marriage in general and those of wedding parties in particular, considering that such parties consume large sums of money which would better be used for building and securing a stable family life, notwithstanding that some people do not basically have enough money to hold their wedding parties and tend to borrow money to do so”, she said.
Al Shamsi thanked the Emirates ID for its support and sponsorship of the 6th mass wedding for 2012 in line with the vision of the federal government’s strategy aimed at creating an efficient community partnership among the government and local organizations to serve the citizens of this country.
Meanwhile, H.E. Dr. Eng. Ali Mohamed Al Khouri, Emirates ID Director General, extended the most sincere thanks and appreciation to the UAE prudent leadership under President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, may Allah protect him, for its ongoing sponsorship and close follow-up of all the issues of concern to the UAE youths including marriage and establishment of a consistent, stable and happy family with the aim of enabling the youth to contribute to the comprehensive process of development witnessed by the UAE and play all their roles towards their society and country.
Al Khouri underscored the keenness of His Highness Sheikh Hazza Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Advisor and Chairman of the Emirates Identity Authority, and His Highness Lieutenant General Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior and Deputy Chairman of the Emirates Identity Authority, on the Emirates ID’s participation in supporting and sponsoring mass weddings. He also valued their keenness and ongoing directives towards hosting and implementing the social initiatives that would bring benefit to the UAE and UAE nationals.
In a speech delivered on his behalf of H.E. Nasser Al Mazrouei, ICT Executive Director at the Emirates Identity Authority, Al Khouri said: “The keenness of the Emirates Identity Authority on sponsoring and supporting mass weddings in co-operation with the Marriage Fund is an embodiment of the strategic partnership between the Emirates ID and the Marriage Fund and an elevated form of social solidarity aimed at helping our young men and women set up their families, establish their future and build their marital life on sound bases that bring them happiness and prosperity and contribute to firmly establishing consistent and stable bases for UAE families.”
For his part, bridegroom Salim Sulaiman Al Bastaki, who spoke on behalf of his fellow bridegrooms, said the idea behind establishing the Marriage Fund was based on a unique vision for building man and provide the ingredients of decent life for them by virtue of the support of the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may Allah have mercy upon him, whose primary concerns included building a decent and stable UAE family through his directives to help the youth reduce marriage costs and hold mass weddings.
Awareness of the importance of holding mass weddings is increasing nowadays in view of their great effect on solving the problems related to high costs and the accumulated expenses of the young men intending to get married, he added. He expressed the most sincere thanks and appreciation to President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, may Allah protect him, and his brethren the Rulers of the Emirates for their ongoing keenness on harnessing all powers and potentials for the youths to overcome the difficulties blocking their way towards establishing families and starting a decent and stable family life.
The mass wedding was attended from the Marriage Fund by Dr. Mohammed Yousef Bani Yas, Marriage Fund Board Member, and from the Emirates ID by H.E. Mohamed Al Mazrouei, Executive Director of Population Register, and H.E. Mohammed Al-Harthy, Acting Executive Director of Registration Centers. It was also attended by representatives of a number of sponsoring entities and a large number of the parents and relatives of the bridegrooms.
